Stop Ten — Trust

A 5-7 minute devotional experience. Walk at your own pace.

Today’s Scripture

Proverbs 3:5–6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Reflection

Trust is easy to talk about until life asks us to practice it.

Most of us don’t wake up one morning and decide not to trust God. Instead, we quietly begin holding onto pieces of our lives that feel too important, too uncertain, or too painful to release. We trust God with some things while convincing ourselves that we need to manage the rest.

Proverbs reminds us that trust isn’t partial. It is wholehearted. We are invited to trust God with all our heart and to acknowledge God in all our ways—not just the parts that feel safe or manageable.

The truth is, we don’t know what we don’t know. Our understanding is limited. We see only a small part of the journey, while God sees the entire road ahead. When we lean only on our own understanding, we make decisions based on what we can see instead of trusting the One who sees what we cannot.

The greatest struggle isn’t learning to trust God once.

It’s resisting the temptation to quietly take pieces of our lives back into our own hands.

Real trust says,

“God, if I’m trusting You… I’m trusting You with all of it.”

Today we’re surrounded by more information, more opinions, and more voices than ever before. Yet information alone doesn’t produce wisdom. The louder the world becomes, the more important it is to stay grounded in the One whose truth never changes. Trust keeps us grounded when the world keeps shifting.

Prayer

Faithful Father,

There are moments when I become overwhelmed by the many voices competing for my attention. So much around me tells me what to believe, what to fear, what to chase, and what tomorrow might bring. Sometimes I don’t even realize how easily I’ve begun leaning on my own understanding instead of trusting You.

Forgive me for the times I quietly take back the very things I’ve already placed in Your hands. When fear tempts me to depend on my own limited understanding, remind me that You see what I cannot see and know what I could never know.

Teach me to trust You with all my heart—not just with the parts that feel comfortable or familiar, but with every burden, every decision, every relationship, every uncertainty, and every step that lies ahead. Help me acknowledge You in all my ways, especially in the moments when I think, “I’ve got this.”

Keep me grounded when the world keeps shifting. Give me wisdom that rises above information, discernment that rises above opinion, and peace that comes from knowing I am following Your voice above every other voice.

Thank You for never asking me to figure everything out before I trust You. Thank You for faithfully leading me one step at a time. Today I choose to loosen my grip and trust the hands that have never let me go.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Take a quiet moment. Listen without rushing. Let the words become part of your prayer

He Will Lead The Way

Proverbs 3:5–6 “He Will Lead the Way”

Verse 1

I’ve tried to walk alone, I’ve stumbled and I’ve strayed

Chasing after dreams that slowly slipped away

But in the stillness, I hear You say

“In all your ways, just trust and pray”

Chorus

He will lead the way, through every rise and fall

When the road is dark, He hears you when you call

Acknowledge Him with every breath you take

He will clear the path, He will make a way

You’re never lost when you trust and obey

He will lead the way

Verse 2

I’ve carried burdens I was never meant to bear

I looked for answers that were never really there

But when I let go and gave You control

You filled my heart and made me whole

Chorus

He will lead the way, through every rise and fall

When the road is dark, He hears you when you call

Acknowledge Him with every breath you take

He will clear the path, He will make a way

You’re never lost when you trust and obey

He will lead the way

Bridge

Don’t lean on your own wisdom, don’t try to understand

Just give it all to Jesus — He holds you in His hands

Final Chorus

He will lead the way, with mercy, grace, and love

He’ll guide your steps with wisdom from above

Acknowledge Him in all you do today

And He will lead…

Yes, He will lead the way.

Faith sees tomorrow because hope believes today.
