A 5-7 minute devotional experience. Walk at your own pace.

Today’s Scripture

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose

Reflection

There are moments in life that we wish had never happened.

Some disappointments still hurt. Some losses still leave questions. Some seasons seem to linger longer than we ever imagined. Our natural response is often to resist where we are because we wish life were different.

Acceptance does not mean pretending everything is okay.

It does not mean approving of the pain.

It does not mean giving up hope.

Acceptance means trusting God enough to acknowledge where we are today while believing that God is still at work in our lives.

Romans 8:28 reminds us that God is able to work through every part of our story—not just the joyful moments, but also the painful ones. God’s promise is not that everything that happens is good. God’s promise is that God is continually at work for good in the lives of those who love Him.

Sometimes the greatest obstacle to healing is not what happened to us, but our struggle to accept where we are today. As long as we spend all our energy fighting reality, it becomes difficult to recognize the transforming work God is already doing within us.

Acceptance is not the end of hope.

It is often where hope begins.

When we stop asking, “Why am I here?” and begin asking, “God, what are You doing in me here?” our journey begins to change.

We may not understand every chapter of our story. But we can trust the Author.

Prayer

Loving God,

There are moments in my life that I still don’t understand. Some questions remain unanswered, and some wounds have taken longer to heal than I ever expected.

Help me to accept where I am today—not because I’m pretending everything that has happened is good or because I’ve given up hoping for something better. I accept where I am because I trust You, and I believe You are still at work in my life.

Teach me to stop resisting what I cannot change, knowing that as long as I fight against where I am, it becomes difficult to see what You are doing within me. Open my heart to Your transforming work. Shape my thoughts, my character, and my faith into the person You created me to become.

Thank You for never abandoning Your work in me. Even when I cannot see what You are creating, help me trust the hands that are gently shaping my life.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Take a quiet moment. Listen without rushing. Let the words become part of your prayer.

Working It For Good

Romans 8:28

“Working It for Good”

Verse 1

When I can’t see beyond today

When clouds refuse to drift away

When every answer hides from view

I still believe Your Word is true

Though tears may fall and questions rise

Your faithful hand is still my guide

You see the picture I cannot

You’re working here though I see not

Chorus

You’re working it for good

Though I don’t understand

You’re weaving every broken thread

Within Your loving hands

What I cannot see today

One day I’ll know You stood

Faithful through it all because

You’re working it for good

Verse 2

The road is rough beneath my feet

Yet every step is still complete

No wasted sorrow, loss, or pain

You redeem them all again

The valleys never last forever

Your promises are changing never

When hope feels hidden from my eyes

Your purpose still remains alive

Chorus

You’re working it for good

Though I don’t understand

You’re weaving every broken thread

Within Your loving hands

What I cannot see today

One day I’ll know You stood

Faithful through it all because

You’re working it for good

Verse 3

I choose to trust what You have said

More than the fears inside my head

Your love has never let me go

That’s enough for me to know

So I’ll keep walking day by day

Following where You lead the way

Until I finally understand

The masterpiece You always planned

Bridge

Nothing is wasted in Your care

Your grace is always meeting me thereEvery ending, every start

You’re shaping both my life and heart

Though I may not see all You do

My future’s safely held by You

Final Chorus

You’re working it for good

Beyond what I can see

Every moment, every mile

Is held securely

I will trust Your faithful heart

Just as I know I should

For every chapter of my life

You’re working it for good

Outro

I’ll trust Your heart…

When I can’t see…

You’re working it…

Faith sees tomorrow because hope believes today.
